Liesl’s Easel : Evergreen Trees

Tree Time!

In this free tutorial I show in-depth how I like to paint trees for lush forests

. I break down the tree basics in the first half and then take you through my personal painting process.

As usual, I'm using medium body acrylic paint. Below are the colors I use in the video but you can use what every colors work for your painting.

  • Hunter Green, Phthalo Green, Sap Green, Yellow Green, Yellow Oxide, Mars Black, & Burnt Umber.

  • For Brushes, I like to have a range of both smooth and stiff bristle flat brushes to paint the bulk of trees (#6’s generally #4’s work well) as well as small liner brushes for the tips of trees (#1 should work just fine)
